Philipp Plein SS17 RTW fashion show “Alice in Ghettoland” took place during Milan fashion week. 57 looks were shown on the runway. Even though the children’s book Alice in Wonderland inspired the show, Plein’s aesthetic for this show resembled something else. People say the show resembled a similar aesthetic to Fergie’s M.I.L.F. $ music video, with topless milk and ice cream men cycling around a 1950s style neighborhood.
How crazy was Philipp Plein SS17?
It sure was a crazy experience. The show included a marching band, an ice cream truck, and convertibles. During the show, four youngsters were eating candy and knocking over a lamppost. The handymen who fixed that lamppost were the only ones who wore shirts. Giant carnival swings towered over it all. Even Paris Hilton made an appearance in this Alice in Ghettoland fantasy, walking look number 55. In conclusion, the show did the name justice. The entire experience did feel like a jump down the Rabbit Hole in Alice in Wonderland.
Backstage, Sebastien Lewyllie had to photograph the special looks. This experience results in pictures of the outfits Philipp Plein created and the models wearing them. With a gold undertone and dark lighting, the pictures perfectly accentuate the models and their outfits. Scroll down to take a look at the pictures that Sebastien took.
