During Milan fashion week, Antonio Marras showcased his SS16 collection on the runway. The collection inspiration for the collection is the one and only Armenian director Sergei Parajanov. His movies are the most popular thing about him, but also for his imprisonment during the Sovjet-Union. Everything had details of the director. The runway, the clothes, accessories were all inspired by him. No detail went left unnoticed. The walls of the runway were tapestry and the basket of fruit on the front row was a link to Parajanov’s movie called “The Color of Pomegranates.”
Beautifully printed and layered is how you could best describe the looks on the runway. During the show, it was obvious that the main colors on the runway were beige, brown, auburn, and lovely tints of silver, gold, and bronze. Little details on the clothing included beading, embroidered patchwork, and sequin appliques. All things that make this a typical Antonio Marras collection. 53 looks walked the runway. The most memorable moment of the show was the last few looks. What was special about them? They were all completely white dresses with the loveliest details.
Sebastien had the honor to go backstage at the Antonio Marras SS16 show. He captured the presented looks from the runway and way more. The result is stunning. The light grey background accentuates the models and the outfits really well and makes the colors vibrant and stand out. The modest happiness of the successful show is also very much showcased in these pictures.
