Versace SS16

When all things go wrong, Donatella Versace does it right because she knows how to revive the lust of fashion and her SS16 is nothing short of that. The center of the collection were the woman and them in combat. The runway soundtrack was empowering and “Transition” by Violet and Friends made a lyrical impact on the show. The song preaches to stop listening to our inner demons and people who competitors in our beauty. That we just have to do what we please and to let nothing stop us.

The entire show were strong women walking the collection. But the deeper meaning in Donatella’s show is beautiful. The look of combat was visible all through-out the show. It was an opposition to the wars which are happening right now. Not only that but it was also to resolve the battle with herself. The battle to throw away the restrictions she consciously made, and continue with making Versace relevant. 55 looks walked the runway that show. The main colors of the show were brown and army green to strengthen the combat theme. Almost all the clothes had beautiful prints on them.

Sebastien Lewyllie went backstage at the Versace SS16 show. He managed to photograph the models and the outfits that they wore on the runway. The result are beautiful pictures that make the colors of the looks stand out. He also managed to get some close-up shots of the models and their make-up and hair. Scroll down to see the pictures that were taken that day.
